Good stuff! My collecting centers around & honoring the Korean War vets, including a couplev jeeps - 1945 GPW & 1951 M38, both marked 187th Abn Inf. Your guy above would have a couple bandoleers. I assume the bayonet's on the pack. If you're ever in Montana, give me a holler!
